The Blight is also an urban campaign setting that can be lifted as a whole or in part out of the Lost Lands and placed into your own campaign world as needed for those times when you need a thoroughly decadent and corrupt urban environment but don’t have the time invent one from whole cloth. An insane royalty, a corrupt judiciary, a decadent aristocracy, and a half-living proletariat all jumbled together amid a thousand thousand monsters…some of them not even of the human variety. The Blight is a city that never sleeps but is never fully awake, living in the shadow of its own dark dream. It’s Clark Ashton Smith and China Miéville, Lovecraft and Dickens, Shelley and Carroll all in a festering brew of toil, tears, and injustice just screaming for heroes to clean up the streets (more likely to die-or worse-trying) or anti-heroes to clean up the streets (or at least a little corner in which to set up their own rackets). The Blight is a City of Despair, Urban Fantasy Horror, and High Adventure by a Master of the Genre Forewarned is forearmed, and we always advocate that game products be purchased wisely and age-appropriately. ![]() Consequently the materials of The Blight may not be suitable for some audiences below the age of 13. The Blight does not violate the restrictions of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Compatibility License and never abandons good taste, but it is gruesome and it does not paint a rosy picture. A landscape of desperation and depravity, The Blight takes the usual no-holds-barred gritty adventure style of Frog God Games and cranks it up another notch. Oh, and one more thing, The Blight is dark.so very dark. The book also includes a player-friendly, full-color poster map of the city to enhance everyone's enjoyment of the place. The last half comprises the adventure path, Levee, a campaign set within the rotten and degenerate urban confines of the city, where the PCs must scratch and claw their way to survival starting at 1st level and continuing through 9 adventures - each one highlighting a different city district - all the way to 10th level and above. It is recommended for use by individuals age 13 and older. The Blight is two books in one with the first half devoted to a campaign guide with a complete history, timeline, and overview of the city as well as new classes, players options*, and races, along with a detailed gazetteer of each of the city's 13 districts. This product contains materials that may not be suitable for all audiences. ![]() You’ve just entered the wrong side of town. The Blight: Richard Pett’s Crooked City provides countless hours of adventure for your game and the seeds to endless campaigns spawning from its grimy, crowded environs. It also includes the Levee Adventure, a nine-part series of adventures that introduces your players to their first taste of the Blight and its rotten and degenerate urban confines.īring your players to a truly novel city setting, where adventures are utterly different than the ordinary fare of traditional fantasy. Two books in one, The Blight: Richard Pett’s Crooked City is everything you need for a campaign set in Castorhage, the city known to most simply as “The Blight.” Set in the Lost Lands campaign setting, this book consists of The Blight Campaign Guide - which includes the Cyclopædia Infestarum, a huge collection of new monsters, NPCs, and other resources for the setting - as well as a ten-chapter gazetteer to the city’s districts. Ruthless factions, many of them quite monstrous, wage a hidden war for control of the city, its bizarre “technologies,” and its cruel empire. The city-state has begun exploring realms beyond the normal world, heedless of the dangers and unaware that these other worlds are exploring the city-state in return. ![]() A vast and sorcerous city poisoned by alchemy and extending its empire through necromantically-powered industries, the City-state of Castorhage is gritty, often horrific, and heartless.
